Sock Burning
In the Chesapeake Bay, especially in the Annapolis area, sailors celebrate the seasonal change with “The Burning of the Socks!” No longer do we need to protect our toes and ankles from the wicked chill of Jack Frost. Bring those odd socks, you know the ones that have lost their mates, socks with missing heel or toes, or just those that are on their last legs and toss them into the fire in this celebration of the Spring Equinox.

Attendance limited to 20 guests

Note: Non-member must be accompanied by a member. No smoking or walk-ins.

SOS Wellness Protocol
All participants attending SOS in-person events should be feeling well. They should not attend an event if they have symptoms of a communicable respiratory or gastrointestinal illness, are “feeling like something is coming on”, have a recent significant exposure to someone with a communicable respiratory or gastrointestinal illness, or have not waited a recommended isolation time after a recent respiratory or gastrointestinal infection (for COVID this would be 10 days from your first symptoms or positive test).
In addition, a skipper/host may have further requirements or request other preventive measures (for example, crew or guests having received the currently recommended COVID-19 vaccine or wearing masks when below deck).
